How To Find Happiness
How To Find Happiness
by Clairvoyant K Taylor and Dr. Michael Taylor
Are you just starting out in your adult life and a bit apprehensive about the future? Do you feel like you will reach happiness when you finally land that dream career or have that big wedding you have dreamed about for years? Do you feel like you have everything you could ever want but still are not satisfied? Have you been looking for happiness in material items or people and have not found your true purpose?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you may be looking for happiness in the wrong places. Many people have this perception that happiness comes from material items and people such as a big house, an amazing spouse, children, or your dream job and many of these people come to find that they are still not truly happy. In order to be completely and ultimately happy with your life, you must be happy with yourself and know who you are.
Who are you?
This question can be answered if you truly set out on a journey to find yourself.
Meditate. Meditating does not mean sitting in a dark room facing the corner while humming. Meditating simply means that you calm your mind and body and focus on your breath. Try lying on your bed and practice deep breathing. Deep breathing calms your mind and your body to allow you to completely relax. Once you are relaxed, you can sort through your thoughts much easier and really focus on peace and serenity. There are higher powers in the world that are constantly trying to guide you to your purpose. Once you are relaxed, you can focus on what those higher powers are telling you.
Realize that material items will not make you happy. You could have all the money in the world and still feel unhappy. Think about all the celebrities who are depressed or overdosing on drugs. Money does not bring happiness. Of course, money can give you assurance and reduce stress over a lack of money but overall, money cannot bring you joyfulness. You must realize that having a big house with beautiful furniture definitely is nice, but having so won’t cause you to feel joy bubbling up within. I have learned over the years that money and material things can be exciting and desirable but when the temporary happiness wears off, I felt empty and lost. I had a job and enough money to pay the bills but I wasn’t happy. I finally came to realize that happiness does not come from anything I could buy or earn. In order for me to be happy, I had to let go of the desire to have all the new and exciting materials and journey within to find happiness.
Do what makes you happy. When you get familiar with who you are at your core, passions that have long been buried may be awakened and you will move toward a direction you are passionate about. As you go about your journey, be mindful of what your inner core is speaking to you and leading you to do. Don’t do what your parents or society pressures you to do. Do what makes you happy. Find out what interests you and truly makes you feel complete. If you love to help animals, help animals. If you love to encourage others through writing, start a blog. Do what brings you joy.
Finding yourself can be the greatest challenge in your life but once you can tune in to the higher powers in the universe you can understand better what your purpose is and make the changes you need to make in order to achieve happiness on the inside and out. Journey within and discover you.
